Christmas and all that...

The Christmas season this year was another successful one, with lots to do and not too many colds. The preparations started with making thing - mince pies, pomanders, decorating  and stuffing envelopes with Christmas cards.

Over the weeks of December we welcomed two choirs, held parties large and small, bottled the damson gin, painted and made things. Everyone got in on the act.

On Christmas day things got sillier. Staff get into the spirit every year but Aimee's hats, always seasonal, reached new levels with a turkey hat and genuine sprout earrings.
As always, we welcome relatives to join us for lunch if their resident is not able to go out for a family occasion. For those who do not, we try to make a special lunch and family atmosphere.

Again, below, the annual puzzlement we all feel... are cracker
 jokes supposed to be funny?

On twelfth night we wassailed as we put away the decorations and now we have to fill the time until the spring.
Coming up, a visit from Elvis (yes, he lives!), coffee mornings, shoe sales, fitness regimes for the willing and fresh air when the sun shines.
Happy New Year to all blog readers!
