D-day Commemoration

To commemorate D-day we shall be looking at the role of the house seventy years ago, when it was a Land Girls' Hostel, and residents will be comparing notes about their experiences in the 1940s.

Some residents have memories of being evacuees, others had experience of military service.

Our most senior resident, Freddy Stevens, was in 21st Army Group, which organised the D-day invasion.
